Principal Civil Engineer - Electrical Substations

This is a key leadership role for an experienced civil engineer specializing in electrical infrastructure and substation design.

We are currently recruiting for a UK medium-sized design consultancy looking for a Principal or Lead Civil Engineer to join a new developing team within electrical infrastructure and substation design.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with clients across the UK on civil and structural elements for new builds and upgrades to substation and transformer infrastructure design.

Key Responsibilities:

Degree level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience with reinforced concrete, heavy civils, and development civil infrastructure
Civil and structural experience
Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) experience as defined by National Grid's TP137 procedure
Good understanding of UK environmental and waste management legislation and requirements
Knowledge of National Grid's Transmission Procedures including TP106, TP135, TP137, TP141, TP153, TP184, TP188, TP219, TP221, TP235, TP241

Requirements:

Ideally based within commutable distance to Manchester but candidates from further afield will be considered
Hybrid home-office working arrangement with flexible working options
Salaried or contract outside IR35
