Role Profile


As a Maintenance Operative at aparto, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety, comfort, and quality of our student homes located in our Glasgow West End property.

You will play a crucial role in the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring they meet the high standards we set for our residents.

You will work closely with the support and guidance of our Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General Repairs: Taking ownership of all general repair tasks.

Plumbing and Heating Repairs: Taking ownership of basic plumbing and heating repair tasks. (Training provided)

Patch Painting: Completing painting as required.

Inspections: Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.
-
Walkthroughs: Regularly walking through the accommodation and its grounds.
-
Incident Management: Notifying and escalating any incidents.
-
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all site checks.
-
Safety Inspections: Carrying out safety inspections following checklists.
-
Storage Areas: Ensuring storage areas are clean and organized throughout the shift.
-
Equipment Inspection: Performing visual inspections of mechanical equipment in the plant rooms.
-
Fire Alarm Testing: Testing and logging results of the fire alarm system weekly.
-
Water Temperature: Testing and recording water temperatures as specified.
-
Water Flushing: Conducting water flushing as necessary.
-
Snow Clearing: Clearing snow and gritting accommodation pathways.
-
Portable Appliance Testing: Conduct annual tests of all portable appliances (Training provided).

Safety Promotion: Promoting safe working practices.
-
Clean Workspaces: Maintaining clean and tidy work areas.
-
Fire and Emergency Response: Handling first response fire and emergencies (Training provided).
-
Security Awareness: Being vigilant about security.
-
Ad Hoc Duties: Completing any ad hoc duties as required by the management team.

Desirable

PBSA Industry Experience: Previous experience in the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) industry is a plus.


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Glasgow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
