Description

Support Through Sport is seeking a highly organised and motivated individual who will work alongside an ambitious team to coordinate the delivery of community sport sessions.

Such sessions are designed to support disadvantaged young people who may be considered at risk or vulnerable to negative influences.

You will work across identified areas of engagement throughout Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to coordinate and deliver programmes, in accordance with Support Through Sport's vision to support and empower children and young people (8-18), through the power of sport and youth work combined.

Team Leaders at Support Through Sport will lead a team of community sport coaches and youth mentors to deliver commissioned sport based intervention programmes, with support from the Programmes Manager, Delivery Manager and wider team.

You will be expected to maintain high standards, role-modelling behaviours for those you lead to ensure structured, organised and meaningful delivery - primarily sport sessions, however this may also include workshops, targeted projects, positive experiences and community events.

At Support Through Sport CIC, we primarily use sport-based intervention and focused youth mentoring to support and empower young people who face multiple disadvantage.

Our work is focused within communities of need, where negative influences are typically more prevalent and deprivation is within the 20% most deprived areas in the UK.

We know that, given the social and environmental factors surrounding children and young people in these particular communities, their vulnerability to involvement in negative influences such as knife crime, offending, gang culture, anti-social behaviour, violence and low-level crime, is disproportionately high.

Through a varied approach, which encompasses eight key aspects, the implementation of our sport and mentoring intervention programmes within underserved communities, works to progress young people to achieving a range of soft and hard outcomes.

Our overall mission statement is to Engage [young people who face multiple disadvantage, additional vulnerabilities and needs], Empower [young people through sustainable and impactful community intervention programmes] and Eradicate [negative influences which surround young people, their families and the wider community].

You will be supported to meet a benchmark of training and standards which includes;
