This is an entry level position, and no previous experience is required for this role. It is a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to learn new skills. The role is based in Malpas, Cheshire, SY14 8LU.


The Role:

We are looking for a hardworking, practical, self-motivated, and honest person, who likes to follow a methodical process and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty.

There will be some manual handling involved in the role with full and ongoing training provided.


Work involves:

• Handling, inspecting, testing, and reporting of road construction materials including asphalts, concrete, aggregate and soils.
• Further sample preparation of the above materials using a rotary cutting table with a diamond tipped saw and sieving the material.
• In addition to the above, a willingness to provide sickness and holiday cover and workaway, in different parts of the UK, and support our sitebased teams in the collection of the above samples. This involves staying away from home, you would be paid more for this activity and full training would be provided.

The above is not an exhaustive list, and you will be required to carry out other reasonable duties and tasks to help meet the needs of the business.

You will be expected to carry out your duties by:

Desirable skills and/or experience:

• Counterbalance forklift truck certificate of training
• Experience in a similar role

What we offer:

• Salary from £10.50 per hour (£21,840.00 P/A) + Contributory Pension Scheme + Overtime

• Working hours 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) 07:00 to 15:30 each day

• Holidays

• Starting at 20 paid days per year and increasing by 1 additional day for each full year of continuous service, up to a maximum of 25 days, plus bank holidays.
