Mould CNC Setter Operator

Barnsley

£32,000 - £35,000 including shift allowance

Shifts:

Shift week 1 (6am - 2pm Monday to Thursday, 11am finish on Fridays)

Shift week 2 (2pm - 10pm Monday to Thursday, 4pm finish on Fridays)

2 shift rotation


The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has recently arisen on my clients site based in Barnsley.

Are you a craft engineer who is looking to join a progressive organisation, with real scope for development?

Do you have solid understanding of CNC operation and process with strong engineering competencies?


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify programming requirements to Manufacture relevant components checking all parameters prior to machining.
  • Input programming data in line with drawing requirements.
  • Ensure all cutting tools are to required specification.
  • Setting of fixtures and vices.
  • Load components into machine using best practice Health and Safety lifting techniques.
  • Machine relevant components to the required specification, from drawings provided.
  • Check all key features using measuring equipment to ensure components are manufactured to required tolerances.
  • Unload components from machines using best practice in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Record all key dimensions in line with quality assurance procedures.

Requirements:


  • Apprentice trained Mechanical Craftsman and/or recognised engineering qualification (HCN / HND / ONC / NVQ / Degree)
  • Good working knowledge of CNC machines & program terminology.
  • Understanding of drawings relating to component manufacture.

Ability to work on CNC machines is essential

  • Adjust
Ability to program CNC machines (an advantage)
