YOUR ROLE

Our Customs team based in Felixstowe are excited to be looking for 2 students looking for a placement opportunity starting September 2023.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Our Customs placement opportunities are aligned to our dedicated Customs Gateway team based in Felixstowe and provides the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the key processes that underpin how goods are cleared coming into and leaving the UK.

The Customs team service a number of different customers with a diverse range of requirements, which means you'll be liaising directly with our external customers as well as our internal customers (colleagues) that they provide services on behalf of.

Throughout your time with us we'll provide you with an opportunity to gain an insight into all elements of the customs process giving you valuable knowledge and experience for your future in Logistics & Supply Chain Your rotation will include the following key areas:

Full customs procedures for imports
Full customs procedures for exports
Transit movements for imports and exports
Simplified customs procedures for imports
Ecommerce movements
Customs handling for all licensed goods and perishables

Aside from the above, you will also have the opportunity to work with their finance, compliance, and customer services team to give you some variety.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

In order to be considered for this placement opportunity, you will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm and commitment to the logistics industry, have strong Microsoft skills - specifically excel, word and outlook, excellent communication skills and good numeracy and literally skills preferably with the ability to work with data.
