Health & Safety Advisor
£35,000 - £40,000 / year
Our client, a prominent and leading player in the Clean Energy sector, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join their team based just outside of Guildford.
As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in championing safety, health, and environmental initiatives across the organization.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in all aspects of SHE and contribute to a diverse range of HSE projects within the dynamic and innovative clean energy industry.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Health, Safety & Environment Manager to implement and enhance SHE programs, policies, and procedures throughout the organization.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations, standards, and legislation. Stay uptodate with industry developments and best practices to maintain a high level of safety excellence.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across various operational areas and departments. Identify potential hazards and work proactively to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, analysing root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Generate detailed reports and follow up on action plans.
- Develop and deliver engaging SHE training programs for employees at all levels to increase awareness and promote a culture of safety and environmental consciousness.
- Collect and analyse SHErelated data, generating insightful reports to track safety performance, identify trends, and measure progress towards established safety objectives.
- Contribute to environmental sustainability efforts, such as waste management, resource conservation, and emissions reduction projects.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and update emergency response plans, ensuring employees are well informed and prepared for any potential incidents.
- Promote a positive safety culture by fostering open communication channels, engaging with employees, and promoting active participation in SHErelated activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant certifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a SHE Advisor or similar role, preferably within the clean energy or related industry.
- Indepth knowledge of SHE regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to provide practical solutions to complex safety and environmental challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fastpaced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for promoting safety and sustainability.
