The Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust's Communications team have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 4 Communications External Affairs Officer.


As a Communications External Affairs Officer, you will support the communications and engagement team in the delivery of priorities and objectives of the Mid and South Essex Hospitals, through the delivery of excellent communications focused on our patients, staff and wider communities alongside supporting the development of excellent relationships with partners and stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally.


Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest in the country, with a workforce of approximately 15,000 who serve a population of 1.2 million people.

  • To coordinate and deliver the monthly stakeholder bulletin.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of distribution systems for communications, including maintaining external/stakeholder distribution lists.
  • Work with the Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager to draft stakeholder briefings.
  • Work alongside the Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager to organise quarterly stakeholder events.
  • Work alongside the Media Manager to write content and support media enquiries.
