This international law firm has a history going back to the 1930s.It is now a leading and award-winning firm with a client base encompassing some of the best names in retail, banking, real estate, sports, and utilities.
The firm is based in the city, ideally placed for commuters. They offer a generous benefits package that includes a flexible element with an option of choice.They are now looking to hire a Financial Reporting Manager on a permanent basis.
The role is responsible for the supervision and workload of employees in the areas of general ledger maintenance/training, system balancing, period-end closings, financial reportinganalysis, budgeting, foreign office accounting and financial statement preparation, property, plant & equipment accounting, account reconciliations and disbursement entry.
Responsibilities
- Manages the financial and management accountants, including managing workload, conducting performance reviews, and all other people management responsibilities as necessary.
- Oversees the maintenance of the general ledger and all associated cost/ledger code mapping/masking, as well as the Chart of Accounts
- Review and approval of journal entries, system balancing, period end closings, reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, generation of global and local financial statements
- Oversees foreign office accounting and financial reporting
- Oversees the various yearend statutory audits and liaises with the external auditors as required
- Performs other duties as assigned and tools, and can play a key role in being a change leader
- University degree
- Relevant professional qualification
- Supervisory experience is essential, and management experience is preferred
- Law Firm accounting/general ledger experience is preferred
- Proven thorough knowledge of general ledger procedures and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated proficiency with Law Firm Accounting software preferred
- Significant experience and knowledge surrounding foreign currency remeasurement, translation, and cumulative translation adjustments
- Robust knowledge of US and UK GAAP requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word and mastery of Excel
