Description

The role will plan, execute and drive outfitting surveying and estimating at a project level, as part of the growth strategy for the Cruise & Ferry market, and wider opportunities across the H&W Group.

To deliver this role will be expected to work closely with the Estimating Function, within Strategic Bids, and also the Sales Function across all markets, to provide estimating services for outfitting opportunities.

To achieve this, there will be an expectation to conduct site visits to gather and analyse clients' scopes and specifications, which may include national and international travel.

In addition, the role will be expected to develop and shape emerging client requirements, feeding these back in to the business, advocating new solution development to meet these needs of the project.


The role will require an element of client engagement activities to support the business across our 4 UK sites and growing international portfolio to support the delivery of our 6 services.

This role is responsible for identifying, analysing work scopes and producing documentation to present to stakeholders and clients.


The Role:


  • Proficient in interpretation of client requirements and preparing a detailed estimate & financial model for review with internal management.
  • Be proactive and confident in maintaining client expectations.
  • Prepare enquiries for materials, subcontract, and any other resource items specific to the project.
  • Create and maintain a database of standard material, subcontract, labour and any other resource.
  • Discuss commercial and technical issues with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed estimate for materials and labour for specialised items of supply and installation and review these with internal department for inhouse supply and with specialist subcontractors for outsourcing.
  • Survey at site where required to verify tender requirements.
  • Prepare commercial and technical inputs for tender submissions in the client's required format and review inputs with internal stakeholders prior to submission.
  • Attend client meetings as required.
  • Prepare and present contract brief to delivery team on contract award.
  • Assist project team on startup phase with major item requisitions and order planning when required.
  • Review contract returns at end of project and update future inputs as required.
  • Generate further enquiries and new clients at every opportunity.
  • Ensure good personal time keeping and conduct in line with agreed policies and procedures
  • Carry out duties with minimum supervision using own initiative to plan and prioritise workload within set timescales.
  • In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all employees must be flexible in their approach and undertake other duties, wherever they may be, to achieve the objectives of the Company.
