ROLE- Mechanical CAD Engineer

LOCATION- West Berkshire

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £26,000- £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client designs and manufactures a variety of plastic and electro-mechanical products and they are looking to take on a Mechanical CAD Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the West Berkshire area.


The Mechanical CAD Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Industrial Design, Product Design or Mechanical Engineering
  • Any placement or work experience working with design / manufacturing would be desirable
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD any programme will be considered (Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.)
  • Experience of working with electromechanical products or systems would also be desirable
  • Any experience of working during your course with a variety of materials and processes including injection moulding, sheet metal and casting
  • Able to work well individually as well as within a team
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Mechanical CAD Engineer role will involve:

  • Supporting the product lifecycle of products
  • Providing engineering support when needed
  • Using CAD software to design new products
  • Working with development teams to help improve products too
  • Producing BOM's for designs and working with ERP systems
  • Being involved in different manufacturing processes and with a range of materials
  • Working within the existing technical team as the company continues to grow
