Routes serves the global route development industry, uniting decision-makers from the world's airlines, airports, destinations and suppliers to negotiate air service through market-leading and award-winning events and digital platforms.


Job Description:

A leadership role with a proven track record of planning and executing major global events.

The role will manage a dedicated team with the expectation to deliver all event management, operational and travel management requirements for all events within the Routes portfolio.

Relationship management of our hosts - the portfolios biggest external partner, to deliver their objectives and manage their event and financial responsibilities.

Managing the cost budgets and directly contributing to the operational profit targets of the business.

Responsibilities:


Accountable for all the event management, event operational delivery and travel management for the Routes portfolio of events and associated brand events.

Directly managing a team to prepare, plan and execute a portfolio of global events.


Manage strategic long term and effective relationships of all our host partners and stakeholders to deliver our event KPI's and our host partners objectives.


Responsibility for managing event cost trackers and contributing directly to securing revenue through effective delivery and execution of events, whilst meeting operational profit targets for the Routes business.

Accountability for the operational improvements of the portfolio of events including all event management and host delivery.


Managing the operational support, as well working with Informa PLC to own the procurement and effective delivery of both global and Routes specific event delivery contracts such as logistics and event build.


Developing ongoing improvements to all customer journeys to strengthen Routes market leading position and improve our customer satisfaction and NPS targets.


Collaborating with the wider Informa business and adopting best practice for all platform and system integration including the appropriate roll out of development plans and training.


Contributing directly to the analysis and assessment of future host destinations, by providing both an event management and operational view of the potential bidders.

A position on the Routes management team (all heads of departments) to help direct the business and input positively to event plans, budgets, 3YP and special projects

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and a passion for fostering positive working relationships both internally and externally.

Significant experience in developing, organising and managing large scale events.


A strategic, confident and self-sufficient approaching leading the Host & Event Management team, empowering direct reports, and influencing and leading virtual teams.


An understanding of the aviation and travel events industry, with the ability to understand customer personas to create live and digital experiences which will exceed customer expectations, attendance ROI, and supports the businesses revenue growth.


Adaptability and drive to identify, refine and manage structural, operational and delivery changes to support the businesses strategic, tactical, and budget objectives.


In-depth experience of budget management, with emphasis on planning and executing effective cost management, with the ability to identify, business case and execute cost mitigation projects to contribute to operational profit targets.

The ability to develop long term relationships. To collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to understand and deliver a variety of stakeholder objectives is essential.
