The opportunity:

Are you looking to start a new career? Do you have a passion for customer service and getting the right outcome for customers? We're looking for talented, ambitious people like you to join our Claims Team, based in our new state of the art office in Glasgow's financial services district.

Working in Zurich's claims team, you will have responsibility for managing your own portfolio of customer claims, and be responsible investigating the claim, negotiating, and finalising claims.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time.

What will you be doing?


In the role of Claims Handler, you'll be responsible for assisting our customers when they are looking to make a claim on their insurance policy.

Policyholders could be individuals or business that purchase insurance policies as protection from potential financial loss.

When a policyholder requires their insurers services, it will be your responsibility to record and manage the claims which will include the following:


  • Providing guidance on making a claim and the involved processes
  • Collecting the necessary information and documents to proceed with a claim
  • Reviewing the claimant's insurance policy and assessing whether their claim satisfies the conditions
  • Identifying any reasons why the policyholder may not receive full compensation
  • Explaining to a policyholder when their policy doesn't cover their claim
  • Monitoring a claim's progress and ensuring it's handled efficiently
  • Investigating any potentially fraudulent claims
  • Consulting with other legal and claims professionals to assess the claim terms
  • Seeking advice from external professionals on more complicated cases when necessary
  • Ensuring the policyholder receives fair treatment and excellent customer service
  • Ensuring payment for all valid claims
  • Managing any complaints surrounding a claim
  • Handling all the administrative aspects of the claim
  • Abiding by legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards as set by Zurich

Who are we looking for?


Haven't worked in Claims or Insurance before? Not a problem We're actively seeking talented people from a broad range of industries who can deliver exceptional customer service through strong communication, relationship management, and effective negotiation skills.


To be successful and thrive in this role, we believe you need to have an inquisitive nature that will enable you to ask appropriate questions and reach accurate decisions.

You'll need to be a good collaborator with the ability to manage your own time effectively. You will be educated to GCSE Level standard (or equivalent) and have strong IT skills.
