Solution Owner on a full time, 6-month fixed term contract basis to support delivery of enhancements to D365 Finance and Operations within out Digital Transformation Programme.

We are flexible on the location of this role within the UK.

The Solution Owner is responsible for representing their ACCA Directorate within the programme team.

They will work with their Directorate Business Lead and collaborate with other ACCA solution owners, our external implementation partner and a wide variety of stakeholders to define user stories and prioritise lists of requirements from across the programme that will contribute to new ways of working.

This will include discussing, design, negotiating. agreeing changes and testing which will contribute to overall implementation.


The Job
Reporting to the Business Lead, on a day-to-day basis, you'll be involved in the following:

  • Acting as a primary liaison point for ACCA within the programme. The Solution Owner is the primary communicator and link between their Directorate Business Lead, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), stakeholders, project teams and an implementation partner
  • Working with the SMEs and colleagues across their Directorate to ensure a comprehensive set of requirements and user stories are collated that reflect their Directorate's perspective as well as the wider ACCA perspective
  • Obtaining, inputting and clarifying the ACCA business vision to the project team to ensure this is clear when creating solution roadmaps and other deliverables
  • Ensuring that requirements are validated and signed off and acting as the lynch pin between business and programme to facilitate clear understanding respectively
  • Contributing to and prioritising requirements and capabilities based on the Directorate and overall ACCA objectives and vision, as well as business value and perceived benefits
  • Day to day management, review and updating of requirements and user stories and communication of changes/progress to stakeholders and the Business Lead
  • Assist the project team in mapping out project dependencies, from a business perspective, to inform the necessary sequence of development
  • Work with the programme and the Directorate to ensure that the right resources are involved in programme activities at the right time, that resource planning is effective and resource plans agreed with the business as required


  • Sign off iterations

  • The Solution Owner is responsible for signing off each stage of the development process to ensure requirements are clear, prioritised and included in the relevant solution design documentation.

The Person

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience of implementation Microsoft D365 Finance and Operations
  • Strong knowledge and experience within financial reporting and E2E accounting processes
  • Membership of an accounting professional body is preferred
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to translate technical descriptions into clear business language to accommodate individual stakeholder group's communication requirements
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external consultants
  • Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic to have the discipline to work on their own initiative as well as working well as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills to deliver to strict deadlines
  • Good experience of having worked in a project environment, ideally an Agile project, as part of a project team
  • Good experience of being able to order, prioritise complex requirements and make decisions in a systematic and rationale manner.
