Description

We are looking for someone who lives and breathes graph databases to join our team and help to shape the future of our data science capabilities.
Projecting Success is changing the face of project delivery from the inside out. There are huge untapped opportunities to exploit the rich seams of data produced by the projects we deliver. From simple dashboards to AI, automation to forensic analysis. There is so much potential to make a difference.

We are taking a lead role in driving transformational change into how projects are delivered and require a senior data scientist to help us to push new frontiers within the profession.

From energy transition to construction, nuclear to transformation projects, you'll be grappling with some really crunchy challenges.

We are a small but growing company, but we have bold ambitions. Our Team have won a number of accolades including Computing's AI and ML team of the year.

We work at the cutting edge and are world leading.

Our philosophy is to open source the solutions that we create to enable the profession to accelerate its transition into data driven project delivery.

We have a strong moral compass.

This is a ground-breaking and potentially hugely rewarding role where you'll get to change multiple industries. Roles like this don't emerge very often.

Job Role

We are currently working on some exciting projects for government agencies, private project owners and major contractors which have the potential to change how projects are delivered.

You will work in the technical team, and have responsibility for shaping the development of our graph database capabilities, from developing 'Project Brain' to driving connections in data that would otherwise be siloed and disconnected.

You'll be working at the cutting edge of data driven project delivery.

The role may also involve interfacing with external clients and senior leaders in the business, so excellent communication skills will be of paramount importance.

This a varied and exciting role, and you will have technical experience in the following areas:

  • Graph databases and associated analytics.
  • Data ingestion
  • Ontologies
  • Integration with GPT based capability
  • Graph UI/UX
  • Machine Learning (supervised & unsupervised learning paradigms, and theory behind common model classes)
  • Python (including common data and ML packages)
  • MLOps Processes (MLFlow preferred)

More than experience with any specific tools or technologies, we are looking for someone with a passion for solving problems and learning.

Our work spans multiple industries and professions, with vast potential to implement positive change.

This is a remote position with periodic travel for our Hackathon events, workshops with clients and team meetings.

If you have experience working with project related data sets this would be a big plus, particularly in either the construction or energy sectors.

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Shaping and owning 'Project Brain', a community driven capability to map the project delivery use cases through to data pipelines. Developing the ontology as a foundation for the Construction Data Trust. World leading.
  • Development stakeholder maps, linking projects, funding, stakeholders and minimising duplication.
  • Connecting risks, schedules, cost plans, benefits management, return on investment and compensation events to form the foundation for high end AI capabilities.
  • Developing the UI and UX to support graph queries and analytics for different personas with differing levels of data proficiency and expertise.
  • Helping to translate project delivery problem statements and develop cutting edge technical solutions that break new ground within the industry.
  • Development of Machine Learning and statistical solutions to derive insights from complex interlinked project datasets.
  • Deployment of Machine Learning models into cloudbased production environments.
  • Development of dashboards and data visualisations to present insights and analysis.
  • Implementation of data security and privacy best practices across all work.
  • Communication and presentation of technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences, internal and external.
  • Maintaining an awareness of developments across the industry, and any new tools and technologies in your areas of expertise. You must have a passion for your craft.

You will have the following underpinning skills, attitudes and behaviours:

  • Logical thinker with a thorough and organised approach
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, taking responsibility for your own work
  • A selfstarter who is disciplined and able to work to tight deadlines
