AJ Chambers are delighted to be working alongside an impressive and highly successful Firm based in London, on their search for a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to join their growing, successful team.
What will this role entail?
Your portfolio will range from high-net-worth individuals, business owners, doctors, entrepreneurs, company directors, land and property owners, and much more.
- You will deal with a wide range of compliance matters including the preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates.
- You will be responsible for the completion of Capital Gains Tax returns, Inheritance Tax accounts and Trust Registration filing requirements.
- You will be responsible for the handling of HM Revenue & Customs enquiries, remuneration planning and assisting with a variety of tax advisory projects.
- You will draw on your strong technical expertise to provide excellent front line client service to your portfolio, alongside reviewing selfassessment tax returns completed by other staff and assisting with their development of more junior staff.
- You will also be actively involved in business development activities.
The role can be combined with an element of homeworking under the firm's agile working policy.
What is required to be successful in this role?
- A minimum of 3 years recent practice experience within a personal tax role, or a mixed role including personal tax.
- You should hold or be studying towards the CTA qualification (or be qualified by experience). ICAEW, ACCA and or STEP qualifications would be beneficial. Study support will be considered, if applicable.
- Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of private clients alongside reviewing selfassessment tax returns completed by other staff.
- Previous exposure to all aspects of Personal Tax compliance work within a professional services environment is essential.
- Accomplished in managing competing deadlines and client expectations. Skilled in controlling budgets and billing.
- Ability to work autonomously whilst also building/developing a team. Previous experience of supervising and reviewing the work of more junior staff would be useful.
