Our 24/7 business has a flexible approach producing high quality products and delivering customer excellence in a fast paced environment.
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join our team in West Midlands. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 17:00pm with 30 minutes lunch break.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the purchasing of consumables, services, traded goods and raw materials for the business, ensuring the accurate receipt and delivery of the items at the agreed level.
Other duties include the following:
- Collating purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order to order materials, goods and supplies
- Ensuring analysis of purchasing costs are reviewed and make commercial decisions to reduce costs and maintain net profit margins (Achievement of cost reduction targets)
- Overseeing company spend and work to identify cost savings to support the projected growth of the business
- Responsible for lowering costs, identifying more efficient supplies and services for the site
- Achieving and maintaining a strategic supplier base through negotiation with suppliers to establish secure supply agreements that meet technical and delivery requirements on a least cost basis
- Sending POs to suppliers
- Ensuring the supplier base meets all operational requirements in terms of delivery, quality and overall supplier service, identify potential global suppliers reducing overall purchasing content
- Responsible for reviewing inventories and order as required
- Collaborating with Planning and Finance to determine optimum inventory levels
- Interacting with suppliers on a day to day basis, manage relationships, and monitor performance
- Supporting the specification and negotiation of new service contracts and capital purchases and coordinate the input of relevant departments.
- Reviewing deliveries against the orders and book goods in
- Manage and resolve any adverse issues that arise with suppliers within the procurement cycle by maintaining an effective and smooth procurement cycle
- Tracking the status of any orders
- Dealing with nonsupplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods
- Ensuring that any invoice queries are resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure effective support to logistics and production to meet customer demands when production issues are related to supplier concerns
- Producing and maintaining all reports and purchasing spreadsheets
- Responsible for any procurement activities including RFQ's (Request For Quotations)
- Price trend analysis, PPAP status and supplier monitoring
- Ensuring suppliers conform to and agree with the conditions of purchase stated in its contractual agreements
- Responsible for daily booking in of produced bottles
- Supporting cost saving projects and other purchasing projects
- Be active in the continual improvement and refinement of purchasing processes and systems
- Producing and ensuring conformance to procedures and work instructions relating to BRC and ISO14001 manuals
- Cost savings delivered for agreed lines at a preagreed value.

£22,000 - £35,000 per year depending on experience.
