Finance Manager

£65,000 - £70,000 + bonus, benefits & flexible working

Aila is excited to announce that we are in partnership with a leading, listed and global retail business in Central London in the recruitment of a Qualified Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

We're looking for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant that is comfortable in an inventory focused environment with the ability to supervise and mentor their team within the UK entities, plus a focus on the Wholesale channel.

You will support the Senior FinanceManger on EMEA financial close management, team building and EMEA finance projects, with additional responsibilities as required around quarter-end and ad-hoc tasks as directed.

You will be a confident and assuring individual with excellent communication skills and possess the ability to make judgement and take ownership in month end decisions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Complete financial close procedures and preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Closely liaise with the Senior Finance Manager and FP&A team on the preparation and review of monthly results
  • Responsible for completion and approval of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for preparation and coordination of yearend information for audits and completion of local statutory accounts per filing deadlines
  • Ensure SOX / Internal Audit compliance for all UK entities
  • Closely align and partner the with FP&A team to understand the plan/forecast each quarter for all Head Office departments
  • Closely track and explain variances of actuals versus forecast in conjunction with FP&A
  • Manage accruals process for month end close to ensure accurate cost accounting
  • Manage, provide training and supervise your GL team of 4 heads.
  • Working closely with the US team to understand and ensure correct accounting treatment for the distributor sales activities
  • Produce and maintain all inventory, freight and duty related accounting schedules accurately within the agreed timeline
  • Build a close working relationship with the Warehouse Operation and Logistic team to facilitate better process and greater understanding of inventory, freight and duty areas
  • Manage the UK GL team by providing guidance, coaching and direction
  • Drive team members' personal and professional development.


To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Finance Manager with experience in a fast-paced multi-currency environment with inventory experience, ideally within the Retail/ Consumer Goods industry.
