What you can expect to be doing:

  • A fostering panel is a group of people who decide if someone is suitable to become a foster carer. They check the person's background, skills, and experience to see if they can provide a safe and caring home for a child in need. The panel includes experts in childcare like social workers, psychologists, and health professionals. The panel's decision is then checked by the fostering agency or local authority before the person becomes a foster carer.
Your role is an essential part of this process.

The post holder will be part of the Business Support Central Team, responsible for delivering high quality business support to the Fostering Panel.


Tasks undertaken will include:
- co-ordinate all aspects of the Fostering Panels meetings
- producing high quality minutes from panel meetings
- overseeing the Panel Administrator to ensure deadlines are met
- providing statistical information and reports to Managers within Children's Services
- liaising with social workers to ensure correct, quality assured documentation is received and actioned on time
- working closely with the Panel Advisor to capture Central List Availability, and scheduling rotas
