This role provides excellent admin support to a multi disciplinary team of clinicians, made up of Psychiatry, Psychology and Nursing colleagues.


It is important that the successful applicant exhibits empathy and compassion, has a professional and flexible attitude, likes being part of a team, has good communication and interpersonal skills, is able to prioritise workloads and can work to agreed timescales.

The Mental Health of Learning Disability (MHLD) Service is a specialist service working throughout Kent and Medway.


We have 3 teams :
East Kent, North Kent and West Kent. Each team comprises a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) with administrators providing admin support for psychiatry, psychology and nursing colleagues.


The role would suit someone who has solid experience of working as an administrator, preferably in a community-based NHS mental health team.

This post will be based in our Maidstone office, working 9am to 5pm, Wednesdays to Fridays.

In this varied role, your duties will include:

  • Adding new referrals to the patient record system RiO (training provided), and gathering background information before the weekly hub meetings.
  • Arranging the hub meetings, preparing and distributing the agenda, taking the minutes and dealing with action points.
  • Having contact with patients, carers, relatives and other external stakeholders.
  • Providing admin support for clinicians, which includes:
  • Typing/formatting letters and reports, including using BigHand (training provided)
  • Taking phone calls and managing generic admin mailboxes
  • Booking clinic appointments
  • Ordering stationery and other items as required via SBS (training provide). Please see job description for full details.
