Manual Turner / CNC Lathe Setter
The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of the longest established manufacturer of industrial
laminates in the UK.

With over 150 years of experience in "getting it right"; our client is a world-class UK-based manufacturer and supplier of industrial laminates, composite materials, and machined components.

Our client is seeking an experienced Fitter Turner Operator to join their company.

With a dedicated team, who all share the passion to succeed and help each other achieve, you will be well supported in your new role with thorough training and genuine care.


Desired skills:


  • Previous experience is essential for this role as you will be responsible for the programming, setting, and operation of two NC Lathes with some manual turning on lathes and capstans.
  • The diversity in the role also requires the use of table and bandsaws, sanders, and pillar drills.
  • You will excel in this role if you have excellent leadership skills, are selfsufficient and able to grind all the required tooling.
  • Experienced Centre Lathe operator
  • Experience with the machine controls we currently use XYZ Protrak
  • Previous experience machining Bakelite and Tufnol preferred or wood
  • Good computer knowledge with MS office skills as a minimum
  • Comply with company policy regarding health and safety

Working hours:


  • You will work Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm
