IT Asset & Risk Manager

£42,120 to £45,783 per annum (Plus 10% Market Supplement).

Permanent

Birmingham

Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership, advice, and support to the team in the delivery of the IT asset management and desktop services.
  • Responsible for the IT asset management Lifecyle including maintaining/auditing the IT Asset Register and updates to the University Asset Register.
  • Responsible for the delivery of a highquality customer desktop service to ensure all staff and students have access to the IT services required to fulfil their responsibilities.
  • Responsible for overseeing the IT desktop service configuration and deployment service.
  • Oversee the plans for the desktop refresh programme.
  • Contribute to the Business Case(s) to secure funding for future phases of the desktop service refresh.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining accurate records of IT inventory and stock.
  • Responsible for maintaining the IT Risk Register and receiving regular updates from the Risk Owners.
  • Monitor and report compliance in relation to software licences and health and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate and report on IT Service performance.
  • Compile, analyse and report on the IT Balanced Scorecard and quarterly performance reporting

Personal specification:


  • Educated to bachelor's degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification
  • Significant experience of leading a team of IT Analysts and Technicians
  • Experience of the IT asset life cycle including configuration, deployment, and asset registers
  • Experience of developing and contributing to business cases to inform the asset refresh programme, to include a detailed understanding of budgets
  • Experience and understanding of software licences, and health and safety compliance
  • Awareness of industry standards associated with IT practice e.g. ITIL
  • Experience of the methods and techniques for preparing, analysing, and reporting quarterly performance across a range of IT services
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to enthuse, persuade and influence
