Description

The purpose of the Acute Mental Health and Memory Service (AMHMS) is to provide a specialised service, which offers an alternative to hospital admission when possible or an intensive in-patient programme of care with the philosophy bringing about early discharge.

This includes service users with serious mental health problems (functional and organic). AMHMS has three functions inpatient service, home treatment and hospital liaison.

The team is responsible for delivery of specialist interventions to service users who are offered treatment following assessment.


The Post Holder will work closely within the multi-disciplinary team and carer/family to devise suitable packages of care which minimises the effect of the illness by utilising least restrictive practice in the home and hospital setting.
