Planning Manager - Elland - Up to £55,000 pa plus benefits

Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a highly successful global manufacturer who are looking for an experiencedPlanning Managerto join their leadership team.

As Planning Manager, you will play an active role in the design and execution of all planning processes, including demand segmentation, network optimisation, demand planning, sales and operations planning, capacity planning, production planning / master schedulingand production scheduling.

The primary focus of this role is on upfront management of the planning team to plan, schedule and improve the on-time delivery performance of the business.

Planning Manager Responsibilities:

Management of the planning function, including creation of longerterm development plan and management of daytoday planning activities to meet the needs of the customer base and the business
Ensure all production control and planning requirements are fulfilled through proactive management of the overall planning function
Provide input to the leadership team on operational plans supporting budget creation and quarterly updates
Lead the planning team through the daily, weekly and monthly planning cycles insuring performance to expectation and identification and implementation of improvement activities
Monitor strategic and operational performance against agreed plans, identify capacity variances, and ensure effective utilization and delivery of capacity. Communicate and deviance or anticipated deviance from plan and suggested corrective action as soonas known
Demonstrate strong leadership within risk management of the overall planning process to mitigate any potential impacts or delays to planned output.
Provide input on lead times and identify and address any potential capacity issues.
Advise on manufacturing strategy with recommendations on the use of MRP
Improve ontime delivery towards Company objectives
Ensure all work personally undertaken is carried out in compliance with current H&S rules

Hours -Monday to Friday (Compressed hours offered)

Required Skills & Experience:

Engineering sector experience (essential)
SAP experience (essential)
S&OP, production planning and production scheduling experience

Excellent problem-solving skills

Project management/planning skills
People management experience
Good knowledge of MRP systems, forecasting tools and demand management
