About the role

  • Permanent

  • Key influencing role in the construction and implementation of innovative practice in the department
  • To be accountable for the quality of teaching and learning within the department and for students' progress and attainment
  • The development and implementation of the curriculum offer within the department in line with the Academy's curriculum plan
  • To lead and develop the department to deliver high quality teaching and learning to improve standards, levels of engagement and to raise aspirations
  • To incorporate and exploit the Academy specialisms in the work of the department in order to support and enrich learning and to enhance achievement
  • To set high expectations for standards of teaching, learning, conduct and relationships, and to model good practice
  • To deploy staff effectively across the department to maximise learning and achievement and meet student needs

Who we are looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • The skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to teach across Key Stages 3
  • Experienced in using a range of teaching and learning styles
  • Able to use assessment data to improve achievement
  • Able to use ICT across the curriculum and for administrative purposes
  • Understand how the National Curriculum applies to all students
