Purpose:
Acquiring goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery, and to ensure continuity of supply.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
- Support in monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
- Providing analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
- Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
- Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
- Maintaining and managing supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of ERP/Epicor inventory management.
- Previous experience in a similar environment
- Previous or current purchasing experience within a manufacturing industry.
- IT literate with ERP system knowledge
- Proven work experience in purchasing
- Good commination skills both written and verbal
- The ability to adapt and learn
- Flexible approach to work.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work to strict deadlines and targets.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Fluent in Stock control purchase systems.
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment.
- Good people skills.
- Able to travel in the UK or internationally on business.
- Able to attend some meetings out of normal office hours.
