Purpose:


Acquiring goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery, and to ensure continuity of supply.


Responsibilities/Accountabilities:


  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
  • Support in monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
  • Providing analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
  • Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
  • Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
  • Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
  • Maintaining and managing supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.

Requirements:


  • Good working knowledge of ERP/Epicor inventory management.
  • Previous experience in a similar environment
  • Previous or current purchasing experience within a manufacturing industry.
  • IT literate with ERP system knowledge

  • Good commination skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to adapt and learn
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work to strict deadlines and targets.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Stock control purchase systems.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment.
  • Good people skills.
  • Able to travel in the UK or internationally on business.
  • Able to attend some meetings out of normal office hours.
