The Neurosciences team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to recruit a junior clinical fellow in Neurology.


This role will be involved in clerking and managing inpatients as well as managing acutely unwell patients on the ward.

The post-holder will take an active part in patient management under the supervision of the Neurology Consultant. They will participate in the ward rounds, multi-disciplinary meetings, diagnosis and prognosis meetings and goal setting meetings. The post-holder will receive training on how to assess new referrals and have opportunities to participate in outpatient clinics.


The successful applicant will be expected to have full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practise.


The post involves care of neurology inpatients, a multitude of sub-specialty outpatient clinics, acute neurology liaison service and weekly academic and neuro-radiology meetings.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call rota, which includes neurology and resident stroke thrombolysis/thrombectomy duties.

The post involves care of neurology inpatients, a multitude of sub-specialty outpatient clinics, acute neurology liaison service and weekly academic and neuro-radiology meetings.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call rota, which includes neurology and resident stroke thrombolysis/thrombectomy duties.

The Neurology Department provides comprehensive adult neurological care for both emergency and elective work.

This includes an inpatient Neurology ward (Charing Cross), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), a planned Neurological Treatment Unit (NTU), an Acute Neurology service, a wide range of sub-speciality outpatient clinics and a number of Multi-disciplinary team meetings.

This a large department with 38 Consultant Neurologists linked to Imperial (based at Charing Cross, St. Mary's or Hammersmith Hospitals), many with clinical duties at allied District General Hospitals and/or research commitments within academic departments at Imperial College.


The Neurology department is complemented by the Hyperacute Stroke Unit, Neurosurgery Unit, Neuroradiology Department (with access to CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and interventional neuroradiology) and Neurophysiology Department.
