  • A brilliant special educational needs school is looking for an outgoing and dedicated Learning support worker to work with young people (aged 716 years) with learning difficulties and speech and language needs. You will be helping children on a 1:1 basis supporting learners to access the learning. Your focus will be to enable them to become independent and confident individuals by teaching them essential life skills and ways to communicate effectively. This opportunity is needed on a full time, permanent basis ASAP. This is a fabulous opportunity to join a lively team that focuses strongly on the core areas of education, independence and inclusion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interacting and participating with the students in the development of skills, supporting pupils to reach their potential for independence
  • Supporting clients' participation in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities within the local community
  • Providing the support and care identified in students' individual learning plans
  • Encouraging and enabling students to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene
  • Participating in relevant training to achieve required qualifications and attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required
  • The desire to help others to enjoy learning and develop independence
  • GCSE's with minimum Grade C/ level 4 or equivalent, including Maths and English language
  • Experience of working with adults or children with learning or communication difficulties
  • Honest, trustworthy & ethical behaviour at all times
