Amazing opportunity for a transformational technology leader to lead the Engineering team within our Personalised Experiences & Communications Platform. You'll support Lloyds Banking Groups ambitious agenda over the next decade with new innovative technologiesthat utilises data and give us the opportunity to reimagine how these should work.

Location:
London, 2 days in the office, the rest from home.


Salary Benefits £100,000- £145,000 (depending on experience) base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus up to 40%, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot to use across a range of benefits, private medical insurance,30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

About the platform
Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) is a business platform that sits within Consumer Relationships.

Which plays a meaningful role in supporting the achievement of the Groups strategic priority to grow by protecting and deepening customer relationships.

We enable & deliver personalised customer communications & experiences across all channels, media and business areas supporting the Customer Relationship Growth strategy to deepen relationships with our customers across both the Retail & Commercial bank.

Thisincludes the data, analytics, and technology to unlock the value of differentiating our branded channel experiences, proposition, price and communication; as well as achieving our paper-free sustainable ambitions.


About the role
As our Head of Engineering, you'll help transform personalisation by harnessing data. Owning the technical direction and develop the tech strategy in collaboration with business and enterprise architects.


What you'll do for us:


  • Work in partnership with Head of Product to shape up the future strategy and roadmap for our customers
  • Lead large cross functional teams, a multimillion pound budget, as well as 3rd party technology suppliers and consultancy staff
- shaping the target architecture, mobilising the teams with required technical skills and managing the key technical delivery

  • Owning the hiring strategy to grow our internal capability by working with and mentoring a wide variety of teams, covering software engineers, data engineers, quality engineers, DevOps and scrum masters
- championing a "Fail Fast, Learn Faster" mentality within teams to test new ways of engineering and cultivate a lean agile culture of deliver value incrementally to customers.


What you'll help build

  • Simplify and modernise our technology estate to enable internal flexibility and increase responsiveness to evolving customer needs
  • Improve customer experience and support the Bank's sustainability ambitions by delivering compelling, reliable, safe paperless communications
  • Enable twoway, seamless, multichannel customer experiences that are differentiated, dataled and personalised in line with the broader Group Conversational Banking and Channel strategies
  • Deliver engaging, empathetic communications that are tailored to individual customer needs and provided via their preferred channel

What can you bring to the role?

  • A strong understanding of how data works and hands on experience in using Data that supports strategic decisions.
  • Have the strategic vision and tenacity to own the technical and organisational changes required to embed a successful modern engineering culture of continuous integration, automation, continuous delivery with Devops practices
  • A career background within digital engineering, having worked up to a senior management level and having applied engineering skills directly into the work at enterprise solutions
  • Continuous curiosity to learn and develop self and team, with industry standard methodology and tooling, in order to contribute in validating team engineering work and decisions.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills to drive digital and cloud transformation at scale
  • Hands on engineering background in Java and experience with public cloud.
