Excellent opportunity to join an established Transport provider, managing their operations in their Stoke Depot.


ADR Network are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor for our client, an established Haulage, Storage, and Logistics firm, based at their Stoke-on-Trent depot.


What you can expect:

  • Allocating work to our Drivers ensuring they are furnished with correct delivery information, paperwork and contacts.
  • Monitor the movement of vehicles (and associated activity) despatched from the site in a timely, safe and accurate standard.
  • Monitoring on the road progress and keeping management informed of any issues.
  • To ensure that any customer calls are answered in a timely manner and followed up where appropriate To raise any areas of opportunity for improvement, or concern regarding the working environment.
  • Downloading drivers' cards/tachographs; Maintain tachograph analysis records and file them in line with legislation.
  • Support the safe, legal, and efficient execution of transport operations.
  • Support driver and fleet compliance in line with legal and Trans Haul standards
  • Calculate and record core and agency driver hours on a weekly basis.
  • Update drivers' hours, holiday, and sickness onto the appropriate records
  • Be the first point of contact for colleague and driver issues
  • Resolving concerns that may occur day to day.
  • Doing all you can to help our Drivers successfully deliver to our customers.
  • Gather information with regards to driver delays and reasons for late deliveries
  • Supporting the debrief of Drivers upon their return to the depot.
  • General office duties
  • Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
  • Assist Transport Operations Manager with arrangements for routine maintenance and any defect repairs.
  • Maintaining fleet records for site vehicles
  • Assist the Transport Operations Manager in achieving full legal compliance with the operator's license, health and safety and driver hour regulations.
  • To maintain accurate records management
  • To work in accordance with agreed targets set by the Company and customer regarding productivity, performance, accuracy, timekeeping and attendance.
  • To escalate appropriate issues in line with agreed procedures to Managers
  • To work as trained and in accordance with Company procedure with regard to all tasks undertaken within role

Skills and Experience required:

  • An effective proactive communicator who is confident in working alone
  • Ability to work under pressure and able to manage time effectively.
  • Excellence in communication and be able to demonstrate integrity in people skills.
  • Proactive approach to work
  • Good degree of IT literacy including Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Working knowledge of EU/domestic drivers' hours rules and WTD regulations.

Desirable:

  • National CPC holder.
  • IOSH qualified.
  • Confident investigator.
  • First Aid qualification would be desirable
This is a Lone-Working role, on a Monday to Friday working pattern.
