PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE ROLE


A vacancy has arisen within the Production department for a Production Supervisor to provide proactive supervision and oversight of a manufacturing area.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of people within the area, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer and business requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures.

Responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvement within the manufacturing area.


General and Task Management

  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health and Safety procedure and ensuring they are always understood and practiced by the team.
  • Develops and implements production policies and procedures.
  • Delegates manufacturing tasks so that team can meet production deadlines.
  • Manages the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor.
  • Communicate priorities and expectations to production workers
  • Personnel supervision and management including PDRs
  • Responsible for ensuring that all equipment used in production is calibrated and ready to use.
  • Addresses production problems as they arise.
  • Organises for the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment.
  • Support in the introduction of any new manufacturing processes into the manufacturing area.
  • Compile, analyse and report Production data
  • Monthly KPI's
  • Collaborate with the Non-Conformance Report Team to address and minimize NCR occurrences
  • Reports on team performance to Manufacturing Leader
  • Makes recommendations about ways to improve employee efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains new production workers to perform their duties.
  • Counsels and disciplines production employees who fail to perform or violate company policies.
  • Review timeclock and overtime requirements, including control and tracking of manufacturing personnel sickness and planned absence
  • Implements recommended manufacturing cost reduction strategies.
  • Nurtures cooperation and communication within production team and other departments.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement activities within the manufacturing area.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Positive, driven and highly motivated with the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Team player and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Strong external customer focus and internal influencing and networking skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good written and oral communication in English.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the capability to work on own initiative, in a supervisory capacity and as a team member.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a Supervisory role.
  • Experience of Medical Industry or similar highly regulated industry preferable.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience of working in a supervisory capacity in a Production Environment.
  • Good IT systems knowledge and skills including Excel skills.
  • Experience of leading and improving teams.

Salary:
£30,000.00 per year
