£19,332.73 increasing to £20,368.68 in April 2023

We're looking for a Senior Learning Support Assistant for Literacy at Ashcroft

What to expect

  • You'll work closely with Reading Senior LSA to support phonics progress for all
  • You'll create a calm, welcoming and secure environment were pupils feel at ease, safe and able to engage
  • You'll assess, monitor and track reading support and phonics interventions using identified assessment systems
  • You'll implement targeted and rapid recovery Read Write Inc phonics intervention for pupils
  • You'll provide reading support for all pupils using a range of strategies including, but not limited to, guided reading, paired reading, independent reading,
  • You'll support pupils across Ashcroft School services including Ashcroft College and Access
  • You'll gather and report data using identified tracking systems, reporting to Literacy Lead in the first instance
  • You'll actively encourage learners to read, build confidence and ask questions
  • You'll encourage reading outside of the classroom
  • You'll regularly undertake relevant training to support use of Systematic Synthetic Phonics, Read Write Inc.

About you

We're looking for someone who has:

  • To hold a relevant teaching and learning qualification at level 3 or above
  • GCSE English A*C
  • Have strong experience of working with pupils with complex SEMH and associated/ additional needs such as ADHD
  • Extensive experience with the improvement of pupils reading using SSP and to have a proven track record of success
  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of Systematic Synthetic Phonics
  • Extensive Knowledge of Read Write INC
