Role Purpose:


The Head of Operations is responsible for contributing to excellent business outcomes, together with ensuring operational resilience and effectiveness is embedded within the current and future processes and culture of the business.

They also make sure that associated operational risks are adequately managed.

In addition they are responsible for ensuring that the operational day to-day running of the business is efficient and effective and that the management of risk and resilience is aligned to the Bank's appetite in regards to both.

The Head of Operations will also lead the Payments team so that payments are made in a timely manner and in compliance with the Bank's authorised signatory list.


Responsibilities:


  • Direct management of the Head of Payments and a Business Process Analyst
  • Lead the identification and maintenance of target operating models for each aspect of the business
  • Act as a positive role model to team members, exhibiting levels of enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism expected
  • Provide support to senior management as required, complete operational reporting, attend meetings with stakeholders and third parties where required
  • Identify barriers to delivery and either engineer ways around them or refer to the COO with an appropriate recommendation
  • Encourage and lead a culture of continuous improvement through lessons learnt, system and performance activities
  • Maintain a robust governance infrastructure, effectively mitigating key business risks
  • Review of business continuity process and resource documentation

Skills and Experience sought:


  • Demonstrable experience of Operational Management
  • Experience of designing and implementing Target Operating Models
  • Track record of working in a middlemanagement/senior operations role
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Educated to degree level or with a relevant professional qualification is desirable
