Senior Provisioning Analyst - Edinburgh
We are working with a successful, dynamic financial services client who is looking for a Senior Provisioning Analyst.
There are 5 teams within Credit Risk who perform distinct tasks.

As the Senior Provisioning Analyst, you'll sit within their Provisioning team who are responsible for estimating bad debt requirements, forecasting bad debt for business planning and for capitalmanagement purposes.


Main responsibilities:


  • Production of the monthly impairment figures (P&L & Balance Sheet) for input into the Banks monthly P&L reporting
  • Ensure that 1st line control activities are performed in line with the Banks Control Framework and to investigate any failures and raise any data related incidents
  • Production of the regular suite of Provisioning MI to support updating of BAU reporting and key driver analysis
  • Provide analytical support and insight into the key drivers of provisioning and downstream impacts of IFRS9 on the business
  • Implementation of IFRS9 model changes into the live production environment
  • Understand and adhere to the teams 'Change Control Process' when undertaking change activity on IFRS9 Provisioning. This will involve making changes to SAS code, following the test approach and testing changes have been updated correctly
  • Support the lead manager in identification and delivery of opportunities to improve the sophistication and effectiveness of the provisioning methodologies, processes and controls. This may include development of proposals and presentation at the appropriateforums
  • Understand the needs of key stakeholders in the Modelling, Portfolio, Commercial and Finance teams to ensure that the models meet the needs of the business
**Key skills and requirements: **-Proven experience in the use of computer-based software statistical packages (e.g. SAS, SQL)

  • Highly numerate with a degree in a relevant discipline
  • Well organised, able to prioritise workload and work effectively and accurately under pressure
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills. Able to convey technical issues to nontechnical colleagues
  • Excellent written communication skills business and project reports, and technical papers
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider team
  • Demonstrate an ability to think and reason logically
  • Excellent team player with ability to work closely with others to deliver results
