GENERAL SUMMARY


The Buyer will assist in the development, and to manage the execution, of global strategies to purchase bought in finished and raw materials over multiple projects.

To deliver on time to operations quality components that meet required standards and to manage and maximise efficiencies in Suppliers whilst leveraging and maximizing Celeros Flow Technology's global purchasing power.

To ensure all commodities purchased are within target pricing and savings are maximised.

The Buyer will be responsible for source selection through Approved Vendor List, negotiation, risk mitigation and purchasing of all commodities for the Pump market.


They will be required to manage their respective supply chains in support of internal/external Customer requirements and support appropriate metrics and reporting as required by the business.

They will be required to assist in the process to manage and carry out vendor analysis and provide recommendations for source selection in support of bid and proposal activities, procurement and as needed to support the business.

Facilitate DFM "Design for Manufacture" discussions between external supply partners, Celeros Engineering & Manufacturing functions.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • SHE is ensuring H&S of self and others. Product safety in ensuring all components, products and parts meet business standards as required i.e. Lloyds, ASME etc
  • Responsible for the procurement of materials and services required in the manufacture of Celeros Flow Technology Pumps, purchases will be across all material categories or Subcontract activities,
  • Continuous engagement across departments ensuring that all Purchase Requisition requirements, specifications, and legal compliance are clear and understood and fit for tendering with external suppliers.
  • Raising RFQs through SAP and where possible the requirement has been competitively tendered by 3 vendors demonstrating value for money and a competitively sourced solution.
  • Reviews and evaluates vendor quotes against requirements, Costs targets, Leadtime and specification.
  • All Purchase Orders are signed and approved prior to purchase by agreed signatories through our D.O.A. process and transacted on SAP.
  • Raising all Purchase orders in accordance with requirements whilst making sure that all required Quality Plans and associated drawings have been provided and submitted to the Vendor.
  • Continuous expediting of Purchase Orders ensuring SAP & internal customers are updated accordingly and Project delivery is met.
  • All assigned Invoice queries reconciled and communicated through liaising with relevant internal and external departments.
  • Action all assigned Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) through process whilst liaising internally and externally to conclusion and resolution.
  • Continuous Improvements to Vendor On time delivery and quality performance, contract governance through full vendor account and relationship management.
  • Support Bid and Tendering activities as required.
  • Assist in the implementation of operational and strategic procurement, process improvements and introduction of best practice procurement and supply chain management techniques
  • Work closely with Celeros group supply chain in delivery of national and/or global supply chain agreements.

SKILLS

  • Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills, influencing, Interpersonal, Communication, IT, SAP would be an advantage or equivalent ERP Systems, vendor management,

KNOWLEDGE

  • Pump or High-End manufacturing sub contract assembly procurement. Supply Chain best practice and understanding of contracts.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Experience of purchasing a variety of materials which include the following commodities but not limited to, Raw materials, Steel Bar and Plate, Machined and Cast materials, Fabrication, Motors, Lube oil systems, Mechanical seals, Gaskets, Bearings, Valves, fasteners.
  • Management of Subcontract Activities.
  • Experience of tender bids, contracts, management of subcontracts, SC standards and process

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CIPS qualified,
