About the role and team
***- As a senior manager within the firm's Central Management Team, and specifically within the HR and Office Services function, this role performs under the leadership of the firm's Head of HR and alongside the Resourcing & Talent Lead, the L&D Lead, the Office Services Manager, and the Head of Secretarial Services.


By leading the operational HR team, this role enables the firm to achieve its vision and goals through excellent business partnering and by implementing its people strategies.

The postholder leads and manages the operational HR team and, through supporting and coaching, is accountable for high value HR business partnering into all areas of the business, and all HR delivery and administration.

The role is responsible for creating a fit-for-purpose HR framework and designing and implementing business-critical HR plans, projects, and initiatives.

Scope of the Role
Leading & Managing the Operational HR Team

  • Developing and implementing plans and objectives that drive performance improvements and change
  • Ensuring efficient and effective operational HR and administrative delivery
  • Coaching, advising, and developing team members in their roles and careers
Accountable for HR Business Partnering

  • Empowering HR team members to build credible relationships with business stakeholders and ensuring people expertise is embedded within the leadership of every department.
  • Ensuring a consistent and professional approach in all areas of performance management, employee relations, sickness absence, etc. as well as elements of change and talent management
Designing and Implementing the Firm's HR Framework

  • Facilitating a positive employee experience, culture and engaged workforce, especially through great line management practice
  • Designing, developing, and reviewing HR policies, processes, and systems
  • Budget responsibility for key HR projects
  • Ensuring efficient and highquality onboarding and induction processes
Leading Plans, Projects, and Initiatives in all HR disciplines and especially in:

  • Hybrid and remote working
  • ensuring the firm considers people's changing needs
  • Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in coordination with the firm's ED&I Committee
  • Health & Well Being to ensure good mental and physical health across the firm
  • Reward including managing systems for role evaluation, salary & benefit
***- Specific Skills

  • Substantial experience of HR business partnering and building credible relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Experience of leading, managing, coaching, and developing HR professionals and/or teams
  • Experience within a professional services firm, preferably within the legal sector
  • Preferably qualified to CIPD 7, and/or having completed a Masters in HRM or equivalent
  • Consistently demonstrating an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion
  • A welldeveloped understanding of issues in relation to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Experience in using HR systems and databases, with confident IT capability including use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Personal Characteristics
