General Responsibilities


As Purchasing Import Planner, you will be part of the Purchasing team at Brenntag, working within the HI&I and Personal Care team.


  • Purchasing materials from Europe, managing the complete supplier cycle, ensuring orders are tracked and delivered on time into a 3PL warehouse.
  • You will be responsible for management of import documentation; the role is a good mixture of import order processing and stock management.
  • Export experience would be beneficial.
  • To play a vital role within the Purchasing and Industry Market Management (IMM) teams.
  • To promote and reinforce a positive and professional image of Brenntag.

Specific Tasks

  • Raising PO's with European suppliers
  • Building composite loads based on historic sales data, MOQs and future demand
  • Looking for cost savings through building composite orders and achieving lower haulier rates
  • Preparing Import Clearance documentation
  • Ensuring all customs entries are completed by our suppliers as per agreed deadlines.
  • Booking transport for imports into 3PL warehouse
  • Liaising with the warehouse with regards to import deliveries
  • Ensuring all goods are booked in with the warehouse
  • Updating Customer Services Team and UK Sales Team with confirmed ETA dates
  • Liaising with IMMs for stock management and understanding supplier relationships

Key Skills

  • Import experience (preferable)
  • Excel knowledge
  • Ability to analyse data
  • Confidence speaking on the phone
  • Organisational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise in a fast paced environment
  • Hazard Transport desired but not essential.
