Senior Performance Analyst (Senior Associate)

Role overview:


The performance/risk analyst will be responsible for calculating and providing performance measurement and/or risk management analysis to institutional and/or asset management clients.

The analyst will interpret and communicate return and risk reporting information to clients and internal partners.

The analyst will provide their assigned clients a comprehensive view of the portfolio's overall composition and performance results on an absolute and relative basis.

He/she will help determine performance drivers and compare results to peer groups and universes with the ability to provide a detailed picture of structural characteristics and performance attribution at the plan, equity and fixed-income level.

The analyst will generate and interpret various equity and fixed income performance and risk measurement analytics. Obtain data and analysis in accordance with established procedures and create spreadsheet macros and develop reports for clients. They will interface with clients on day to day reporting requests.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Works independently as well as on a team, to produce performance/risk analytics at multiple levels
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding performance/risk reporting
  • Participate in RFPs and client meetings as required
  • Resolve issues relating to daily performance measurement and daily attribution
  • Acts as a resource and representative for the performance group internally and externally
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all key partners to help streamline the core operations processing through people, process & technology changes
  • Partner with Product Development and Technology to help automate/streamline operations processes which enhance client experience and build scalability into the business
  • Partner with Client Service to help change client behavior where required
  • Interpret and write commentary on performance results
  • Calculate rates of return
  • Handle client reporting and prepare custom reports, ensuring accuracy and quality

Qualifications:


  • 57 years of experience working in a performance and/or accounting environment required
  • BA/BS or equivalent preferably in business/finance or mathematics
  • Excel proficiency a must
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to work hard and be on a steep learning curve
  • Must have good communications skills and be a team player
  • Attention to detail with demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Ability to manage to strict deadlines
