Sewell Wallis are recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller for an established SME in Sheffield. The Assistant Financial Controller will support with all aspects of financial management, working in a brilliant and established team.

The Assistant Financialcontroller will be responsible for managing accounting records, ensuring compliance with regulations, assisting with publishing financial statements, analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes andensuring accuracy of financial information.

The Assistant Financial Controller will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized and have excellent communication skills.

The job;
Financial Planning and Reporting

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Analysing financial data. Plan, agree and track activities to close any performance gaps.
  • Assisting with cashflow forecasting.
  • Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, including deferred revenue.
  • Inventory accounting/monitoring stock movements.
  • Monitoring internal controls.
  • Participating in budgeting processes.
  • Managing financial transactions.
  • Calculating Monthly Payroll/Commissions/Bonuses
  • Streamlining accounting functions and operations.
  • Coordinating audit processes.
The person;

  • Minimum AAT Qualified with post qualification experience. Ideally studying towards ACCA/CIMA
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Highly skilled in Excel
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the monthend/yearend close process
  • Confidence to influence, communicate and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • A passion to analyse numbers and extract their meaning in a simple way
