We have an exciting opportunity to assist the Clinical Psychologist and Therapy Team in enhancing and developing the psychological services provided across Meadows Care and Meadows Psychology Service.

Thereby supporting the service to meet the psychological, emotional and relational needs of the young people within Meadows Care and Meadows Psychology Service.

The post holder will be an integral part of the team and will be responsible for several key administrative tasks:
keeping up-to-date information, literature searching, supporting data collection, and completion of audits.

Clinical work may include structured assessments (including assessments of mental health, risk and cognitive and daily functioning) and providing short-term interventions.


The post holder will be expected to liaise with staff across the service and promote a psychological perspective to the care provided, which can be challenging when faced with multi-disciplinary perspectives.

They will be involved in service improvement initiatives and support the continuing development of the Therapy Service in accordance with the needs of Meadows Care and Meadows Psychology Service.

The post holder will be expected to work effectively and manage a number of competing tasks which at times can be unpredictable, risky and emotive.

As such the post holder will be expected to balance autonomy and initiative whilst recognising the limitations of their role and experience.


This role would be ideal for anyone that is keen to pursue a role in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology or other therapeutic modalities.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in psychology at 2:1 or above
  • Eligibility of graduate membership of the BPS
  • A warm, compassionate and empathic approach to interpersonal relationships
  • Experience of working with (young) people with complex presentations
  • Skills in building relationships with individuals who may be difficult to engage
  • Ability to reflect with a natural curiosity and openness to learning/developing
  • Experience of varied research methodologies and database management
  • Able to demonstrate good organisational skills
  • IT skills and knowledge of information management systems.
