Job SummaryPurpose of Role:
To liaise with our Sales and Warehouse teams to ensure stock items are dispatched to suppliers for processing and returned in a timely manner to meet our customer's deadlines.
Also, to manage and process sales orders from internal companies, and input incoming stock deliveries from external companies to our stock control system.

Purchasing Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Using our computerbased stock management system, create sales orders and bills of material (BOM) as directed by our Sales team based on a customer's needs, which will be used to clearly instruct colleagues in our Warehouse Team, which stock items to pick/prepare for dispatch to supplier for processing.
- Create sales orders to replenish items of stock which need to be processed by supplier, these will usually be requested by our Sales team, but may also need ordered based on predefined Min/Max levels of stock.
- Liaise with processing suppliers about prices, and lead times, to offer customers the best possible service, at the most costeffective price point.
- Once material has arrived with processing supplier, expedite to make sure that our customers deadlines are met, if that is not possible, keep our Sales team informed of any delays which will have an impact on our customers.
- Once material is delivered to or collected from a supplier, using the delivery notes and our stock management system, material will be booked into stock so the this can be dispatched to customers.
- Process sales orders from other Service Metals Group companies, making sure that the orders are inputted and give to our Goods Inwards Team in a timely manner.
- Update other Service Metals Group companies with accurate pricing each morning.
- Work with the purchasing manager to expedite and update outstanding orders to ensure stock is delivered as per the required and/or acknowledged date from supplier.
- Previous officebased experience preferred.
- Previous experience of stock management in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Previous use of a computerbased stock management program is desired but not essential.
- Customer service focused and confident.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Good organisational skills.
- Teamworking skills.
- Computer skills and an ability to work with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Job Type:
Full time, Permanent.
Hours:
Mon - Fri, 8.30am to 5pm.
Salary:
£26,000 - £29,000 per year depending on experience.
