Our Client a well established Manufacturing Facility based in neath is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join their business on a Permanent Contract.


The package details are as follows:

Salary:
£28,000 - £30,000 pa depending on experience

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday

  • Friday

Mission
To support and co-ordinate all quality activities within the ERL Group with particular emphasis on Major Projects. This will involve regular contact with production and quality personnel in all depots supplying into the Major Projects.


Maintaining good management of all quality related activities throughout the process including incoming raw materials, in-process products and finished products supplied by the depots ensuring conformance to the relevant technical specifications required by Major Projects.

Audit performance, Legal compliance, Product compliance, Tier 2 and 3 Audits, Project Reporting


Accountabilities

  • Support Operations and QA Manager to manage existing and new customer contracts ensuring all materials supplied to the customer meets the required quality and technical specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of Inspection and Test Plans as required for each contract to ensure that the specific requirements are met for the products supplied.
  • Ensure as necessary that the traceability of materials incoming from suppliers through to supply to the customer is fully controlled and all associated documentation is filed and available for retrieval as necessary.
  • Assist in the Reporting and presenting of Life Time Quality Records reports and external test reports to the customers on a regular basis ensuring the traceability and Life Time Quality Records meet the requirements of all stakeholder.
  • Evaluate the results of quality assurance and quality control activities and prepare recommendations to the QA Manager and Operations functions with any significant changes that need to be made to the existing manufacturing process and/or operating systems.
  • Liaise with functional and operational area managers and supervisors for implementing new activities, procedures or methods to improve the quality within the production and administrative processes.
  • Supported by QA Manager, liaise with external raw material suppliers to ensure that their products meet the organisation's quality standards and that the organisation receives satisfactory standards of service.
  • Assist the QA Manager in the Leading, direction, evaluation and development in the team of quality assurance professionals to ensure that quality assurance activities meet established targets and standards.
  • Provide support and advice to the Quality representation of other Depots within ERL and the wider CSS group who are supplying steel to Major Contracts.
  • Undertake Supplier Audits as required under ISO 9001: 2015 at a frequency specified in the associated Quality Plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of any "Contract Quality Documentation" i.e. SQP, ITP, MAF etc. to ensure that the contract requirements are clearly communicated and understood by all stakeholders.

QA Team Management Activities

  • Support the "Vision" for theQA Department and continuous improvement activities by understanding:
  • What is possible
  • What is necessary
  • Supporting the Communication and direction of the above with clarity to the team and other stakeholders
  • Evaluate contributions from any direct line reports to recognise and celebrate successes and identify potential improvements and development opportunities.
  • As appropriate Manage attendance and timekeeping processes for any direct line reports and carry out appropriate measures for performance management, disciplinary & grievance in conjunction with HR.
  • Manage, people, processes and task to ensure the most efficient use of resource as appropriate.
  • Assist with regular review in maintaining the QA Department Training Matrix to ensure efficiency of the department.
  • Support the QA Manager in leading the QA team to achieve high levels of safety, quality, cost effectiveness, and maintaining a high level of moral within the department.
  • Assist the QA Manager in the coaching and mentoring of others and be an open source for guidance and support, particularly in respect to continuous improvement of products, process and customer service.

Skill, Qualifications and Experience


The Quality Engineer will have significant "Quality" related experience gained from involvement of a busy manufacturing organisation supplying into Major Industry markets such as Energy, MOD, Aerospace, Automotive etc.
