Part-Time, Term Time Only, 17.5 Hours Per Week
Pimperne Primary School are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our busy, friendly professional team.

Do you have enthusiasm, energy and commitment for supporting children with their learning? The post is likely to be based in Key Stage 1.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is positive, smiley, approachable and truly believes relationships are key
- is proactive - we want you to think on your feet, take direction but be independent with it and take an active role in the life of the school.
- can promote independence and child-initiated learning - we don't want our children to become dependent on adults - you would be there to offer support and guidance but not to do it for them.
- is able to quickly grasp the expectations of the curriculum and have a good understanding of how young children learn.

We can offer you:

- support and guidance
- on the job, training from experienced colleagues
- a friendly, happy, supportive staff team
- a place to work where your wellbeing is given high priority
- an environment that thrives on healthy, happy relationships

The right person will need to be an enthusiastic, positive person with experience of children in some capacity.

They will need sensitivity to be able to attune to a child's needs and adapt quickly in various situations and be resilient and independent in supporting children.

We are also looking for patience and calmness, and someone skilled in forming positive relationships.

  • Supportive of a positive approach to all needs and behaviours
  • Looking to further their role in the teaching profession in a friendly supportive school
  • Keen to make a difference to the outcomes for all children
  • Willing to work hard and demonstrate care and respect
  • Able to promote pupil independence and motivation whilst overseeing all learning activities

You are likely to be someone who:

  • Has experience (and relevant qualification) of spending time with children of varying ages.
  • Loves to learn
  • Can multitask
  • Understands that all children are unique
  • Is positive and smiley and able to create great relationships with children and adults
  • Uses initiative and quick thinking to adapt and works well as part of a team
  • Possesses good communication skills and can liaise with professionals and parents
  • Wants to make a difference and knows tomorrow is a new day of opportunities

We can offer you:

  • The opportunity to work with our wonderful young people
  • The opportunity to work with supportive, friendly colleagues throughout our school
  • High quality continued professional development and opportunities to progress
  • A core purpose to ensure a happy, aspirational, resilient and confident learner

Closing Date:
Midnight on Sunday 3 July 2023

Pimperne Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; this is a commitment which we expect all staff and volunteers to share.

Rigorous checks will be made of the successful applicant's background credentials, including Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks in line with the Governments safer recruitment guidelines.

Searches will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted.

As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the interview panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.

The salary quoted on the advert is based on the term time dates being worked during the full academic year and includes paid leave entitlement.

Salary payments will be made in equal instalments over twelve months.

A pay adjustment will be made in the first year to ensure that the staff member is being paid correctly for the period they are working.
