Bio collectors have an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to enhance their experience and drive with an up-and-coming department already established with a solid service reputation but with considerable growth plans.

The individual will be tasked with revamping processes and procedures and developing their career.


Based in our offices in Mitcham, this is an opportunity to work directly with our fabulous transport team, provide outstanding service, and make an impact every day.

The role is office based, with flexible working patterns to suit the individual and business needs.

This role will allow you to grow and develop while making a real difference to internal and external teams.


Willow Lane

  • AD processing site Capacity to process 100,000 tonnes pa
  • Generates gas and electricity on site
  • 20 staff on site plus visitors

Osier Way

  • Transport and offices
  • 28 vehicles
  • 20+ staff on site at any time

Key Accountabilities:


  • Documentation management and review, including but not limited to COSHH, Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Toolbox Talks
  • Knowledge of DSEAR regulations is an advantage.
  • Setting and achieving key performance indicators, alongside regular reporting to senior Management, including analysis of incident and near miss data, identifying route causes and preventative actions.
  • Liaising with other department managers to ensure compliance, health and safety and best practice
  • Regularly audit site processes and procedures, ensuring they are adhered to across the businesses.
  • Organising regular health and safety meetings with team members to communicate and resolve issues within the businesses
  • Monitor compliance within relevant departments, including Transport, Operations, Engineering and Commercial.
  • Carry out gap analysis and implement review and revise risk assessments as required.
  • Carry out relevant training on relevant procedures/risk assessments or associated topics in house
  • Effectively communicate/ implement new legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Contribution to IS045001 implementation and leadership of assigned tasks associated with this project.
  • Implementation of a continuous improvement culture about H&S and compliance.
  • Monitor daily KPIs & analyse trends, producing management reports as required.
  • Research, procurement and implementation of an appropriate software system for H&S.

  • Delivery of agreed documentation and reports in a timely and professional manner.

  • Good using Microsoft programs.
  • Proven experience in implementing new ways of working through policy development.
  • Knowledge of the ISO system and its requirements for implementation and adherence.
  • Evidence of business impact and achievement.
  • Operates to the highest professional and personal standards.
  • Evidence of team working.

Desired Professional Qualities

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a Waste Management, Science or Engineering discipline.
  • Alternatively, have previous experience in a similar industry.
  • Currently operating in a similar environment.

Salary:
£20,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
