An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the MSE Oncology team based at Southend Hospital, The post holder will provide a comprehensive, effective and efficient Service co-ordination role to the Oncology Management Team to enable them to carry out their operational and managerial duties, ensuring effective organisation of their time.

You will be expected to provide full administrative support to the Oncology Service Management Team.


You will undertake a wide range of tasks to ensure the effective running of the Oncology Service and will act as a conduit for communication.

You will be expected to have a flexible approach to working.

Assist with the provision of a comprehensive administrative service to Oncology Management Team including

  • Type general correspondence
  • To manage the Oncology Service Office on a day to day basis. Coordination and organisation of the respective Oncology Management Team's commitments through effective diary management and priority judgement.
  • Attend departmental meetings, minute taking, often involving varied or technical agenda items. Maintenance of action trackers, producing reports, presentations and meeting papers to an excellent standard and circulating these in a timely manner in advance of and following meetings as appropriate.
  • Appropriately manage correspondence replying to letters, requests and memorandums as required.
  • Arrange of meeting and other events, including booking conference rooms and arranging facilities as appropriate.
  • Appropriately manage telephone calls in an effective and efficient manner, screening and diverting calls as necessary, demonstrating an excellent knowledge and understanding of processes across the group and familiarity with key personnel.
  • Undertake general administrative duties in support of the Oncology Management team including scanning, faxing and photocopying, in addition to creating, developing and managing databases, spread sheets and other documents in line with the needs of the Oncology Management Team.
