The school is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with experience to join their dedicated team that focuses on achieving the best results for their students through comprehensive programs.
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work closely with another therapist and an assistant, delivering individual and group therapy sessions to the students. Your role will involve providing a range of interventions, supporting and training parents and staff, and ensuring universal provision.
You will undergo relevant training, support, and supervision to fulfill your responsibilities that mainly revolve around assessing and meeting the students' communication needs, thereby aiding in their learning and personal growth to make the most of the educational opportunities provided.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure student safety and adherence to safeguarding procedures
- Assess various communication difficulties
- Conduct therapy sessions based on assessments and EHCP guidelines
- Develop therapy programs for school and home use
- Organize group therapy sessions
- Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals
- Monitor and evaluate interventions
- Contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Engage in meetings with parents and SEN Teams
- Establish positive relationships with students
- Encourage inclusivity and self-esteem among all pupils
- Provide constructive feedback on progress and achievements
- Maintain a conducive learning environment and promote good behavior
