The Role
St Edmund's Summer School has been welcoming international students each July and August for over 20 years.

As the Summer School hosts children from over 40 countries, it plays a crucial role in maintaining and developing the College's international presenceas well as reputation for delivering world-class residential educational programmes.


Responsibilities include
Operations

  • Lead and manage all operational aspects of the Summer School business.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead at the College for the Summer School, ensuring all necessary compliance checks for Summer School staff are undertaken.
  • Take overall responsibility for the Health & Safety of staff and children during the Summer School's operation.
  • Annually review the Summer School's recruitment needs and develop appropriate recruitment strategies to meet them.
  • Ensure all UK accreditation requirements are met or exceeded to confirm St Edmund's Summer School as a leading brand.
Business & Marketing

  • Create a mediumterm business plan in order to ensure the sustainability, growth and development of the College's Summer School brand and business.
  • Identify and explore potential for expansion and new business opportunities for the Summer School.
  • To deliver a focussed and appropriate marketing strategy.
Financial outcomes

  • Meet Summer School financial targets. Take full accountability for the achievement of the Summer School's financial outcomes.
  • To review and recommend annual course fees.
  • Prepare annual budget (linked to medium term strategic plan) and monitor performance against that budget.
Venue Hire

  • Acting as a main point of contact for incoming venue hire enquiries following initial contact stage.
  • Manage and coordinate the venue hire process of the College's facilities to external hire groups.
  • Recommending quotes and costings for venue hire at the College.
  • Education attainment at Further Education level (or demonstrable equivalent experience) or holds relevant professional qualifications.
  • Significant, demonstrable events experience with experience of events administration. (3 years' experience in this field)
  • Knowledge of the importance of safeguarding and working with students from differing cultures.
  • Thorough understanding of budgeting, financial and resource planning.
  • Knowledge of international education markets.
  • Knowledge of effective marketing tools and techniques.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with agents and staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively whenever representing the Summer School and College including with Agents, staff, students and the media.
