About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper in our Peterborough office for TC Bulley Davey.


You will be responsible for managing day to day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients as well as reconciliations of the main control accounts, including month end reviews.

Key responsibilities of the
Bookkeeper role are:


  • balancing accounts, reconciliations, reviewing client entries and advising of corrections or efficiency improvements
- processing sales and purchase invoices, receipts and payments
- preparing and filing VAT returns for various VAT schemes
- communicating directly with HMRC when necessary, undertaking general administration tasks
- providing training to clients on various packages and bookkeeping skills as required


About you:

The successful Bookkeeper will have the following skills and experience:

  • previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy practice
- ideally AAT qualified but will consider qualified by experience
- extensive working use of Xero software
- ability to work both independently, direct liaison with clients, as well as part of a team in both a supporting and supervising capacity
- positive team player with a "can do" attitude
- accurate data entry skills with excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- analytical and problem solving skills
- experience with Sage and Quickbooks would be advantageous
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- passionate about great service in order to provide a high level of client care
