Transport Planner - Sheffield - £27,000 to £30,000


Clemence Rogers are currently working in partnership with our client in the recruitment of an experienced Transport Planner, to join our established client in Sheffield.


Key Responsibilities of a Transport Planner

  • Effective route planning and utilising drivers for deliveries and collections
  • Planning daily workload for vehicles based at 2 sites
  • Answering queries from customers, employees and colleagues
  • Dealing with driver hours ensuring they are compliant
  • Planning fleet services and MOT's in accordance to the O licence requirements
  • Dealing with driver hours ensuring they are compliant
  • Negotiating with suppliers for the price of fuel
  • Monitoring fuel levels on site
  • Covering the weighbridge operative during breaks, holidays and period of sickness.

Ideal person for the Transport Planner Role:

  • Good formal education.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to balance conflicting demands.
  • Good knowledge of the transport industry
  • Previous experience of working within a transport office.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an everchanging environment.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Committed, reliable and flexible team player
