Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Ability to carry out conveyor system design, analysis, and engineering calculations
- Experience in Conveyor systems engineering with 'hands on' expertise / experience
- Experience in concept / layout design for conveyor systems
- Knowledge of overhead and floor conveyor systems
- Ability to produce detailed tender specifications
- Ability to analyse supplier quotations
- Ability to manage budgets for purchased equipment
- Ability to conduct design reviews and risk assessments
- Support onsite installation and commissioning
- Perform site verification and field checking
Education
- HNC or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering and proven level of engineering experience in conveyor systems
Aptitude
- Experience and ability to work within both office and site environments
- Ability to understand customer requirements and specifications
- Planning and prioritisation skills
- Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
Travel
- You will be based out of offices in Warwick, but a degree of flexibility is required as sometimes you maybe overseas (but you will be mainly in the UK)
- Ability to travel abroad no restrictions in obtaining visas
- Full driving licence
The Role:
- Plan and supervise production of primary engineering data in accordance with the project engineering plan.
- Identify all applicable specifications, statutory codes and regulations.
- Produce engineering calculations as required.
- Gain customer approval of primary engineering data.
- Generate tender specifications, equipment schedules and requisitions required to obtain supplier quotations and to procure equipment.
- Conduct bid technical analysis.
- Conduct site surveys.
- Arrange and document internal and external project design reviews.
- Arrange and document design risk assessments.
- Ensure the issued design information takes into account all life cycle phases of the design risk assessment (including installation methods and sequence of build).
- Agree installation methods and sequence with installation engineer, including transport, access, timing and logistics.
- Provide onsite engineering technical and quality control support when required.
- Ensure suppliers submit drawings for our approval.
- Approval of supplier purchased equipment.
- Checking and approval of internal and supplier drawings prior to issue.
- Agree with the Commissioning Engineer the data to be collected/measured during commissioning and approve the commissioning data once collected to ensure plant is performing as designed.
- Support agreed project 'flexible working' plans in relation to working times and locations.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by your immediate Manager/Director, e.g. take on other Ops/Tech roles when competent to do so
